Shirly Farmer (APRN, PMHNP-BC)

Ms. Shirley Farmer is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a licensed Adult Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She has spent the last decade providing excellent, compassionate psychiatric care to adult clients in the outpatient and inpatient clinical settings.
As a native Texan, Ms. Farmer completed her baccalaureate degree in nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, in 2005. She later attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. In 2010, she obtained her Masters of Science degree with a clinical focus in Adult Psychiatric/ Mental Health.
Ms. Farmer incorporates a theoretical framework centered on holistic principles and the science of caring, which emphasizes the transpersonal relationship with clients that are structured around the moral commitment to protect and enhance human dignity, develop and sustain a help-trusting authentic client/provider relationship, heart-centered/healing caring based on practicing and honoring wholeness of mind and body, inner harmony, and authentic presence connecting human to human. Ms. Farmer has extensive experience treating clients with various psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, dementia, and neurocognitive disorders. She is passionate about seeing clients overcome the barriers associated with mental illness and strive to help them reach their full potential.
In her spare time, Ms. Farmer enjoys volunteering in the community, traveling, seeking spiritual growth, and spending time with family.
